Dr. Angela Robinson

Dr Angela J. Robinson is a Consultant Physician in Genitourinary/HIV medicine at Mortimer Market Centre and Honorary Consultant, University College Hospital London.

She was appointed Consultant at UCH in 1989 and has been an Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL. She has over 100 publications, authored several book chapters for UK and USA books. Her research interests included genital warts, candida, chlamydial infections and infections in adolescents and children. She has written articles on Women’s health. She has acted as an expert for various panels and advisory committees.

She has broad experience in all aspects of sexual health care.

She offers diagnosis and treatment of genital problems in both men and women. Her areas of clinical interest and expertise are in managing recurrent and chronic conditions including warts, herpes, vaginal discharge, vulval irritation.

She has held a number of high profile positions within the specialty of GU and HIV medicine including Past President of Medical Society for the Study of Venereal Diseases and the inaugural President of British Association of Sexual Health and HIV. She is heavily involved in training the specialists of tomorrow with educational roles at Trust and National level

She was named as one of the top sexual health doctors by The Times.


Dr. David Hawkins

Dr. David Hawkins is a Consultant in the Directorate of HIV and Genitourinary Medicine at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. He has over 30 years experience caring for patients with a wide range of sexually transmitted and genitourinary conditions.

He has published over a 120 peer reviewed papers, authored several book chapters and an atlas of sexually transmitted infections. He has organised, taught and examined fellow practitioners over a broad range of subjects associated with sexual health.

During four years with the Medical Research Council (MRC) his clinical research was primarily related to chlamydial infections and aspects of non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), particularly

non-chlamydial diseases. The latter are now known to include mycoplasma genitalium and ureaplasmas. His current interests also include pre and post exposure prophylaxis regimens (PREP and PEP) and adherence, HIV in pregnancy and genital dermatoses.

Over the last three decades he has been a member of various Department of Health Committees including the Expert Advisory Group on AIDS (EAGA). In 2015 he was elected Deputy Chair of the UK Advisory Panel on the management of HIV and Hepatitis B and C infected healthcare workers.


Dr.Nicky Mackie

Dr Nicky Mackie is a Consultant in HIV and Sexual Health at Imperial College Healthcare Trust. She has more than 20 years’ experience in her field and, since 2012, she has been Head of Speciality for HIV within her Trust.

She is a Trustee Committee member of BHIVA (British HIV Association) and is involved with writing national guidelines, is co-chair of the NHSE London HIV Clinical Forum and a member of the BASHH (British Association of Sexual Health and HIV) HIV Special Interest Group.

Dr Mackie also enjoys aspects of her job around teaching and education. She is the deputy Convenor for the diploma in HIV Medicine (the national exit exam) and teaches each year at the European AIDS Clinical Society HIV Summer School.

She is a Steering Group member for the UK MRC HIV Drug Resistance Database group which allows patient-level linkage of clinical cohorts with national surveillance databases and has high quality research outputs.
